Making Music Connect for Everyone
Since 2014, the Music Connects program has helped remove financial barriers so Linn-Mar students can participate in band and orchestra. The Linn-Mar School Foundation believes every student should have access to the life-changing benefits of music education, including improved academic achievement, creativity, confidence, and perseverance.
Through Music Connects, qualifying students receive access to instruments throughout their time in band or orchestra at Linn-Mar. The program also helps fund summer lessons, instrument repairs, and replacement instruments as needed.
Linn-Mar is home to one of Iowa’s most recognized music programs, and Music Connects helps ensure all interested students have the opportunity to participate.
The program is supported through donations from the Marion and Linn-Mar communities and accepts both monetary gifts and new or gently used instruments.
With an annual budget of $7,500, your support helps provide equitable access to fine arts education for Linn-Mar students.

Music Connects instruments include:
- Flute
- Clarinet
- Alto Saxophone
- Trumpet
- Trombone
- Violin
- Viola
- Cello
- Bass
If a qualifying student would like to play an instrument not listed above, they are able to do so. The Foundation office will then work with the band or orchestra director to assist with needed repairs and payment of the district assigned rental fees.
The Linn-Mar School Foundation is seeking donations to help keep the Music Connects program available for students facing financial barriers. With an annual budget of $7,500, your support helps provide instruments, repairs, and music opportunities for students in need.
Please consider making a donation and help ensure every Linn-Mar student has access to the life-changing benefits of fine arts education.
